Field Operator

Position

SafeSight is hiring a Field Operator to support product development, testing, technical tuning and design, as well as above ground (A/G) and underground (U/G) field and drone operations.

Primary Duties

• Coordinating with the product development team to improve product quality and upgrades.

• Developing assembly, quality assurance and maintenance plans for the product(s)

• Operating drones and the accompanying LiDAR scanning hardware as well as maintaining aforementioned equipment

• Traveling to client sites and operating drones and other equipment A/G and/or U/G.

• Participate in field and drone flight planning with engagement team

• Conduct post flight/engagement analysis using available data logging

• Coordinating advanced flight operation approvals

Requirements

• Previous drone operator experience of 50+ hours

• Experience with non-DJI drones, multi-rotor

• Experience with Beyond Visual Line of Site (BVLOS) and First Person Video (FPV) flight

• Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzers, soldering, etc.)

• Ability to work hands-on with electronic and mechanical devices; including assembly, disassembly, testing, and troubleshooting

• Ability to work in North Bay, Ontario

• Able to meet physical demands of the position

• Valid G class driver s license

• Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision.

Preferred Skills

• Underground experience

• Degree in aviation, aerospace, and/or engineering a plus

• Experience with tuning autopilots (e.g., PX4)

• Experience with LiDAR sensors

• Advanced certification with Transport Canada

• Able to conduct flight reviews with Transport Canada
